Indian Railways is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Jodhpur–Delhi Vande Bharat Express between September 20–25, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to flag off the service. This marks a major milestone in Rajasthan’s rail connectivity, offering passengers a faster, more comfortable, and premium travel experience.
The new train, to be inaugurated along with the Bikaner-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat and Udaipur-Chandigarh Superfast Express, is part of a major initiative to improve rail infrastructure in North India. The Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express is particularly important for Rajasthan, as it makes possible convenient same-day round trips between Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Delhi, which benefits both business and leisure travelers.
The semi-high-speed train will operate six days a week, with Tuesday as a non-operational day. It will run between Jodhpur Junction and Delhi Cantt, covering 605 km in approximately 8 hours.

Technical trials and preparations have been completed, with the new rakes already in Jodhpur and high-level coordination between central and state railway authorities. The inauguration coincides with a period of major project launches, as PM Modi will also unveil other significant transport and infrastructure initiatives from Rajasthan.
