Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express

Indian Railways is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Jodhpur–Delhi Vande Bharat Express between September 20–25, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to flag off the service. This marks a major milestone in Rajasthan’s rail connectivity, offering passengers a faster, more comfortable, and premium travel experience.

Inauguration and Importance

The new train, to be inaugurated along with the Bikaner-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat and Udaipur-Chandigarh Superfast Express, is part of a major initiative to improve rail infrastructure in North India. The Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express is particularly important for Rajasthan, as it makes possible convenient same-day round trips between Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Delhi, which benefits both business and leisure travelers.

🛤️ Route & Schedule

The semi-high-speed train will operate six days a week, with Tuesday as a non-operational day. It will run between Jodhpur Junction and Delhi Cantt, covering 605 km in approximately 8 hours.

Proposed Timings:

  • Departure from Jodhpur: 5:30 AM
  • Arrival at Delhi Cantt: 1:30 PM
  • Return from Delhi Cantt: 3:10 PM
  • Arrival back in Jodhpur: 11:15 PM

Halts Along the Route:

  • Rajasthan: Degana, Makrana, Phulera, Jaipur
  • Haryana: Alwar, Rewari, Gurugram
  • Final stop: Delhi Cantt

🪑 Coach Configuration & Capacity

The train will feature 8 modern coaches:

  • 7 Chair Cars
  • 1 Executive Class Coach

Total seating capacity is approximately 530 passengers, with ergonomic reclining seats, mobile charging sockets, and diffused lighting.

🛡️ Safety & Technology

Passengers will benefit from advanced safety features:

  • KAVACH anti-collision system
  • Emergency alarm push buttons
  • Talk-back units in all coaches
  • CCTV surveillance and platform-side cameras

🍽️ Onboard Catering by IRCTC

IRCTC will serve regionally inspired meals:

  • Breakfast: Upma, besan chilla, biscuits
  • Lunch: Paneer-gatte ki sabzi, rice, dal, paratha
  • Non-veg options also available
  • Packaged drinking water provided to all passengers

Additional amenities include:

  • Onboard Wi-Fi
  • Infotainment systems
  • Automatic plug doors
  • Special lavatories for Divyangjan passengers

Final Preparations and Public Anticipation

Technical trials and preparations have been completed, with the new rakes already in Jodhpur and high-level coordination between central and state railway authorities. The inauguration coincides with a period of major project launches, as PM Modi will also unveil other significant transport and infrastructure initiatives from Rajasthan.

This new Vande Bharat Express is set to herald a new chapter of fast, comfortable, and efficient train travel for Rajasthan and Delhi, meeting long-standing demands from passengers and stakeholders across the region.
